Yesterday, in a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Reps. Angie Craig and Lauren Underwood (IL-14) led a letter with 16 of their colleagues in advocating for the inclusion of their legislative solutions to make health care more affordable in the next Congressional coronavirus relief package. In the letter, Members commended Speaker Pelosi for including provisions to lower the cost of insurance premiums in the Take Responsibility for Workers and Families Act and urged the Speaker to include those policies in upcoming legislation.

Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig (MN-02) released a guide of community resources to help families, workers and small businesses throughout the 2nd District as Minnesota fights the spread of COVID-19.

"So much in our daily lives has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and I want to make sure everyone has the resources they need as we get through this together," said Rep. Craig. "I hope this guide will be helpful to everyone in our community. I am committed to fighting in Washington and here in Minnesota to ensure everyone can weather this storm."

Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig sent a letter urgently requesting Chairman Richie Neal of the House Ways and Means Committee review the language in the CARES ACT and work with leadership in both parties to broaden the definition of a qualifying child in the Recovery Rebates for Individuals section of the CARES Act to include children older than 17, up to the age of 24 for students and beyond for disabled individuals.

Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig sent a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer urging for the inclusion of small and mid-sized communities in the Senate coronavirus relief package, through the State Stabilization Fund. This change would provide Second District cities and towns with direct assistance to local communities to cover revenue lost because of the coronavirus.

Angie Craig (MN-02), Pete Stauber (MN-08) and Jared Huffman (CA-02), sent a letter to House leadership urging the inclusion of additional funding for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). As school districts adapt to closures due to the Coronavirus, the Members advocated for additional funds to continue meeting special education requirements while distance learning as the House considers additional funding in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Today, Rep. Angie Craig announced that small businesses in Minnesota are now eligible for SBA coronavirus relief loans to help them with the impacts they are currently facing. These loans can be for up to $2 million.
