WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig applauded her Senate colleagues for efforts toward legislation that would take decisive action to ensure universal access to high-quality, affordable health care across our country. The Senate's current reconciliation framework reflects many of the health care priorities that Representative Craig has long advocated for, including capping the out-of-pocket cost of insulin at $35 per month, allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices and extension of the ACA tax credits.

WASHINGTON, DC – This summer, the New Dem Coalition released a comprehensive action plan to fight inflation, lower the cost of living for Americans and secure the long-term fiscal future of the nation. Included in this plan were two of Representative Craig's bills – the Affordable Insulin Now Act and the Truck Parking Safety Improvement Act.

WASHINGTON, DC – This week, the U.S. House of Representatives approved nearly $30 million in federal funding for local projects in communities across Southeastern Minnesota. Over the past year, Representative Craig consulted with local mayors, sheriffs and community leaders to identify projects that would strengthen local infrastructure, grow the economy and improve public safety. In the coming months, the Senate is expected to vote on the appropriations packages that will include these projects.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Congresswoman Angie Craig's Right to Contraception Act, which would shore up access to birth control in the wake of the Supreme Court's assault on reproductive rights and other fundamental freedoms. This legislation would codify the legal right for women to access devices and medication designed to prevent pregnancy – such as birth control pills, IUDs and condoms.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig voted to pass the Respect for Marriage Act, which would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), codify marriage equality under federal law and provide additional legal protections for marriage equality. Earlier this week, Craig helped introduce the bill alongside every openly LGBTQ+ member of Congress – as well as Tri-Caucus Chairs Joyce Beatty (D-OH), Raul Ruiz (D-CA), and Judy Chu (D-CA) and Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig voted for two critical pieces of reproductive rights legislation to enshrine access to reproductive health care into law for everyone across America, regardless of where they live. The Women's Health Protection Act and the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act – both of which Craig cosponsored – passed the House earlier today. In the weeks following the reversal of Roe v. Wade, many states have rushed to enact abortion bans – including nine states that have already successfully done so.
