Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig launched her Farmer Advisory Council, a group of farmers, producers, and agriculture advocates from Minnesota's Second District to serve as experts on issues facing Minnesota farmers. The group will meet regularly to discuss pressing issues in agriculture so that Rep. Craig can bring their concerns to Washington and find bipartisan, common-sense solutions.

Donald Norcross, a bill to make developmental education programs more effective, fair, and less expensive. In the midst of a self-inflicted trade war, small businesses and consumers are bearing the burden of tariffs and unpredictable market access in their bottom lines. Rep. Craig has been working hard to hold the Administration accountable for their trade policies and advocate for an agreement that prioritizes local economic growth.

Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig introduced H.R. 4010, The Emergency Access to Insulin Act with fellow Minnesotan, Rep. Dean Phillips. This bill would increase insulin access for underinsured and uninsured patients, make insulin more affordable, and hold big drug companies accountable for jacking up insulin prices and making other life-saving drugs unaffordable for Minnesota families.

Today, U.S. Reps. Angie Craig (D-MN) and Rodney Davis (R-IL) introduced landmark bipartisan legislation to create a low-interest loan program for Minnesota and other states to fund mitigation projects that reduce the risks and costs of natural disasters. The bill, H.R. 3779, called the Resilience Revolving Loan Fund Act of 2019, is authored by the two and follows months of discussion with local mayors affected by a severe flood season as well as FEMA.

Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig hosted John Zimmerman, a turkey farmer from Northfield, at a House Agriculture Livestock and Foreign Agriculture subcommittee hearing titled Reviewing the State of the U.S. Livestock and Poultry Economies. Zimmerman serves on the Executive Committee of the National Turkey Federation and raises four million pounds of turkey every year, in addition to growing corn and soybeans.

Today, U.S. Rep Angie Craig announced that she is joining House Democratic Whip James Clyburn's House Task Force on Rural Broadband. The Task Force has set the goal to bring affordable, high-speed Internet access to all Americans by 2025.

Rep. Craig believes that access to rural broadband is critical for success in a 21st century economy, which is why she is working on efforts to improve rural broadband mapping and invest in infrastructure to make sure every Minnesotan has the resources they need to succeed.

Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig hosted Executive Director of Red Wing Ignite Neela Mollgaard at an Agriculture Subcommittee hearing titled Building Opportunity in Rural America through Affordable, Reliable and High-Speed Broadband. Red Wing Ignite is a non-profit that promotes economic development in Red Wing by bringing together and providing resources for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and students. Red Wing Ignite has more than 18 businesses and organizations in their co-working space, and they have recruited and supported nearly 40 startups in 2019 alone.

Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig and U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL) introduced a bipartisan resolution in recognition of the inland waterway systems that power economies and communities across the Second District.
