REP. ANGIE CRAIG JOINS THE OPEN DOOR TO GET HEALTHY FOOD TO MINNESOTA FAMILIES

May 11, 2020

Rep. Craig Supports Creative Efforts of Food Shelves as Demand Increases Due To COVID-19

Today, Congresswoman Angie Craig joined The Open Door for a pop-up produce drive-through to help make sure folks can get nutritious food for their families. Rep. Craig has remained in close contact with nonprofits, including food shelves, across the district throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout those conversations, they've discussed the increased demand for their services due to COVID-19 and she has continued to advocate for them in congressional relief packages.

"The economic impacts of COVID-19 have increased the need for nutritious food from local food shelves," said Rep. Angie Craig. "I encourage folks to donate food items or their time to help make sure families in our communities have access to the nutritious foods they need."
