Congresswoman Angie Craig Calls For Funding for Minnesota Farmers
Today, U.S. Reps. Angie Craig (MN-02), Betty McCollum (MN-04), and Ron Kind (WI-03) sent a letter to the Office of Management and Budget pushing for the distribution of $100 million for the Army Corps of Engineers to address the impacts of this spring's devastating floods along the Mississippi River. The funds were included in the Additional Supplemental Appropriations for Disaster Relief Act, and were signed into law by President Trump in June 2019. Those funds have not yet been disbursed so the Army Corps can do their jobs.
Today, U.S. Rep Angie Craig called on House leadership to include additional funds for Minnesota's family farmers in the spending bill expected on the House Floor this week. The continuing resolution must include authority for the Commodity Credit Corporation to extend past the $30 billion before October 1st, allowing for Market Facilitation Program and Farm Bill payments to be made to our farmers on time.
