Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig reiterated her call for trade policies that prioritize economic opportunity for Minnesota farmers and small business owners.

Rep. Craig spoke to USDA officials ahead of an announcement of a trade aid package that would offer relief to farmers affected by an escalating trade war. Craig pushed the Administration to put forward a coherent trade strategy that protects international market share and opens new opportunities for Minnesota agriculture.

Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig announced that she is leading a bipartisan resolution H. Res. 392 to recognize this week, May 19 through May 25, 2019, as National Public Works Week. Rep. Craig authored this resolution to celebrate the imperative work of our nation's public works professionals who manage water, sewer, public transportation, and maintain public buildings and grounds.

Yesterday, H.R. 987, the Strengthening Health Care and Lowering Prescription Drug Costs Act, which includes bills that U.S. Rep. Angie Craig has cosponsored, passed the House on a bipartisan vote.

Craig not only voted to pass the package out of the House, she also spoke on the floor during the general debate on the importance of passing these bills and taking a significant step towards making affordable healthcare a reality for every family.

Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig hosted Mike Peterson, a fourth-generation farmer from Northfield, MN at a hearing on the state of the farm economy for the House Agriculture Committee's General Farm Commodities and Risk Management. In addition to farming nearly 800 acres of corn and soybeans, Mike and his family own a welding and fabrication business and a golf driving range on their farm, and they have been previously recognized as the Rice County Farm Family of the year.

In her role on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig recently called for Congress to include projects and priorities from Minnesota's Second Congressional District as a part of an upcoming wide-reaching federal surface transportation package. The Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act is set to expire in September 2020 and must be reauthorized with improvements to highways, motor vehicle safety, public transit, motor carrier safety, hazardous materials safety, rail safety, as well as research, technology, and statistics programs.
