WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representative Angie Craig announced Angel Silva as her guest for tomorrow’s State of the Union address. Silva, a U.S. citizen and a resident of Rosemount, is the son of Concepcion Macias-Pulido, a Minnesotan who self-deported after being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in December.
Minnesota Democratic Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Angie Craig are detailing their visit to the Whipple Building Friday afternoon which has served as the headquarters and detention center for ICE during Operation Metro Surge.

(ABC 6 News) — On Tuesday, Rep. Angie Craig joined Rep. Raul Ruiz of California in introducing legislation to establish care standards for people in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.
The bill is called The Humanitarian Standards for Individuals in ICE and CBP Custody Act. It would require ICE and CBP to conduct timely, in-person medical screenings and ensure basic humanitarian standards for those in custody.
The bill comes amid high tensions in Minnesota due to increased presence of federal agents in the state.
