U.S. Rep. Angie Craig has authored and pushed for improvements in health care and mental health services for veterans. Her efforts were included in today's passage of the FY2021 appropriations bill containing funding for Military Construction & Veterans Affairs and Department of the Interior.
This week, Congresswoman Angie Craig (MN-02) and Congressman Jeff Fortenberry (NE-01) introduced Matt's Act, a bill addressing high insulin prices. By eliminating the role that middlemen, pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs) play in increased drug costs, this legislation rethinks insulin pricing by allowing patients without insurance to purchase insulin at the net rate and capping copays for patients with insurance. Currently, the estimated 358,093 Minnesotans who live with diabetes spend between $1,200 and $20,000 annually on insulin.
U.S. Rep. Craig had two critical amendments included in today's bipartisan passage of the National Defense Administration Act (NDAA). The first is a $30 million increase in support services for active duty Army families. The bill also includes Craig's bipartisan Seeding Rural Resilience Act, which would increase rural mental health services.

The Stop Coronavirus Scams Act would double the maximum forfeiture penalty, criminal fine, and term of imprisonment for anyone who attempts to wrongfully obtain anything of value from individuals by using false COVID-19 related information.

Today, U.S. Reps. Angie Craig (MN-02) and Pete Stauber (MN-08) introduced bipartisan legislation, the Supporting Apprenticeship Colleges Act of 2020.
This bill would provide assistance to apprenticeship colleges throughout the country. As these colleges bestow an Associate's Degree and a Registered Apprenticeship, they are federally accredited institutions but are often left out of traditional higher education grant programs while they prepare students for the most in-demand jobs available.
