Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig announced that Kim Cesarek of Burnsville, will be her guest at the President's State of the Union Address on February 4th.
Rep. Craig met Kim and her husband Dustin Cesarek during her health care listening tour last year. Kim was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer at the age of 33, learning of her disease when her daughter was only eight months old. She has lived for the last seven years through harsh treatments and remains focused on the possibility of the next lifesaving drug that will keep her living or perhaps one day even cure her disease.

Right now, the U.S. is experiencing the highest youth usage of tobacco products in 20 years. In 2019, there were 5.3 million e-cigarette youth users, an increase of 3 million young people in just two years. This usage is driven by the more than 15,000 flavors like mint, mango and cotton candy covering up the true dangers of tobacco use and nicotine addiction.

Today, U.S. Reps. Angie Craig (MN-02), Pete Stauber (MN-08), Dean Phillips (MN-03) and Michael Guest (MS-03) introduced bipartisan legislation to require an examination of the health and economic impacts of skyrocketing insulin prices. The bipartisan bill would require the government to study and report the scope of the problems created across healthcare by the rise in insulin costs, which are up more than 600% in recent years and have increasingly led to patient rationing of the drug.
