U.S. Rep. Angie Craig Secures $1 Million to Improve Access to Dakota County Veterans Memorial Greenway
EAGAN, MN – U.S. Representative Angie Craig secured $1 million in federal funding to construct a highway crossing along Trunk Highway 3 in Dakota County and improve access to the Veterans Memorial Greenway.
The current pedestrian crossing along the highway poses safety risks to both pedestrians and drivers. Once constructed, the new crossing will provide a convenient and accessible access point for greenway visitors of all ages and abilities and improve traffic safety along the highway.
“Every single Minnesotan should be able to enjoy the Dakota County Veterans Memorial Greenway – and constructing this new crossing will help ensure they can. I’m pleased to have secured the funding needed to make sure this space is safe and accessible for everyone who wants to visit,” said Rep. Craig.
The Dakota County Veterans Memorial Greenway is the state’s longest greenway dedicated to veterans, offering a year-round, safe and universally accessible outdoor space for diverse visitors to enjoy nature, celebrate the state’s strong tradition of military service and honor Minnesota’s veterans.
Last year, Rep. Craig secured nearly $5 million in federal funding for Dakota County to help construct the greenway.
