Representative Angie Craig Returns Over $2 Million to Constituents in Minnesota’s Second District
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig announced that her casework efforts have returned more than $2 million to constituents across Minnesota's Second District. Since assuming office in 2019, Representative Craig and her casework team have worked tirelessly to help constituents resolve issues with federal agencies and access the refunds and benefits to which they are entitled from federal agencies like the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration and Department of Veterans Affairs. Through these efforts, Representative Craig has helped residents of Minnesota's Second District close over 2,700 individual issues with federal agencies.
"Working with federal agencies can be complicated, confusing and frustrating. And far too often, Minnesotans are unable to access the refunds, benefits and payments they rightfully deserve," said Craig. "To combat this, my team and I have spent countless hours cutting bureaucratic red tape and advocating on behalf of constituents – and I am thrilled that, through these efforts, we have been able to put $2 million that was rightly theirs back in the wallets of hardworking Minnesotans."
If residents of Minnesota's Second Congressional District are having trouble with a federal agency, they should visit Representative Craig's website at https://craig.house.gov/casework.
Returning money back to taxpayers has been a top priority for Craig since she entered Congress. Most recently, she announced that the House Appropriations Committee approved all 15 of her Community Project Funding Submissions, advancing more than $30 million for projects that would strengthen the economy and improve infrastructure and public safety in Southeastern Minnesota. Craig's submissions came from local mayors, sheriffs and community leaders and will help strengthen local infrastructure, grow the economy and improve public safety in communities across the Second District.
