June 6, 2024

NORTHFIELD, MN – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig announced $3,945,000 to help design and construct a new water treatment plant in Northfield.

Rep. Craig worked to secure funding to construct a new water treatment facility in Northfield to improve the water infrastructure in the community and protect the health and safety of Northfield residents by providing a safe and contaminant-free water supply.

“Thank you to Northfield Mayor Rhonda Pownell for working with me to secure this funding. Every Minnesotan deserves access to safe, clean drinking water, and this new facility will help us achieve that objective,” said Rep Craig.

Rep. Craig was in Northfield last month to tour the site of the water treatment facility.

The new water treatment facility will provide safe drinking water for Northfield residents and protect them from future contaminants. It will also reduce pollution in the Cannon River from in-home water softeners which will no longer be needed after the project is completed.
