U.S. Rep. Angie Craig Meets with Lakeville Post Office Leadership To Discuss Mail Service Levels

January 18, 2023

Today’s visit is part of Rep. Craig’s months-long effort to urge USPS to resolve issues in Lakeville and across the Second District

Rep. Craig wrote to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy on December 30 seeking answers about problems with mail delivery

LAKEVILLE, MN – Today, amid reports of mail delays across Minnesota’s Second District over the last few months, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig and Lakeville Mayor Luke Hellier brought constituents’ concerns directly to USPS officials at the Lakeville Post Office.

Rep. Craig met with local and regional USPS leadership today to discuss progress being made to resolve constituent issues with mail delays.

Over the holiday period alone, Rep. Craig’s office received messages from over 160 constituents about poor mail service.

“In Lakeville, it appears that progress is being made to address workforce shortage issues and routes are expected to soon be fully staffed. While there is still work to be done, it appears that service levels are approaching stable levels,” said Rep. Craig. “My office will continue to monitor progress here and across the Second District.”

“Lakeville residents should be able to rely on their postal service to send and receive their mail on time – but right now, they can’t. That needs to change,” said Lakeville Mayor Luke Hellier. “I’ll keep working with Rep. Craig to improve mail delivery here in Lakeville and ensure that every single one of my constituents can access their mail in a timely and reliable manner – because that’s what they deserve.”
