U.S. Rep. Angie Craig Leads Bipartisan Effort to Designate Today as “National Women in Agriculture Day"
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Angie Craig is leading a bipartisan, bicameral effort to designate today, March 21st, as “National Women in Agriculture Day.”
The resolution, which Rep. Craig introduced with Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL), seeks to honor the essential role that women play in American agriculture. Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Tina Smith (D-MN) introduced companion legislation in the Senate.
“Women play an essential role in American agriculture – working as farmers, ranchers, producers, business owners, leaders and so much more. That’s why I’m introducing a bipartisan resolution to designate today as National Women in Agriculture Day to recognize and honor their hard work,” said Rep. Craig.
