U.S. Rep. Angie Craig Helps Pass Bipartisan Legislation Cracking Down on Junk Fees

May 17, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC – This week, U.S. Representative Angie Craig helped pass two bipartisan bills to crack down on junk fees and increase transparency for consumers.

Rep. Craig helped pass the bipartisan TICKET Act, which would require event ticket sellers and resellers to disclose the total price of tickets and provide refunds for canceled or postponed events. She also helped pass the No Hidden FEES Act to require hotels to display all fees up front to customers.

Last month, Rep. Craig asked constituents to share their experiences at the grocery store and gas pump as part of her “Lowering Costs Survey” as she works to develop legislation to help lower costs for Minnesotans.

“Life costs too much right now, and I’m working to figure out why and help find ways to make things affordable for working families,” said Rep. Craig. “These are common sense, bipartisan fixes that will help increase transparency for consumers so they know exactly where their hard-earned dollars are going. I’ll keep working to pass legislation that will lower costs and help grow the middle class.”
