U.S. Rep. Angie Craig Announces $115,000 for the Airlake Airport in Lakeville
LAKEVILLE, MN – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig announced $115,000 in federal grant funding for the Airlake Airport in Lakeville.
Rep. Craig worked to secure funds through the Airport Improvement Program. These funds will be used to install lighting on the runway, improving safety for takeoffs and landings. It will also increase traffic of the airport, benefiting not only the airport, but the local economy.
"I am so thrilled that I was able to work with Airlake Airport leadership and the Airport Improvement Program to secure these funds;” said Rep. Craig. “I’ll keep working to bring federal dollars back to Minnesota’s Second District.”
“This project elevates the safety and efficiency of operations at Airlake Airport and comes at a time when business activity and demand for flight services is growing rapidly,” said Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which owns and operates Airlake Airport. “We’re thankful for the leadership of Representative Angie Craig in supporting aviation projects across the MAC system, which serves a wide range of recreation and business users and stimulates private investment that benefits the regional economy.”
