Representative Angie Craig Statement on EPA’s Updated Renewable Fuel Standard Volume Obligations

December 1, 2022

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig released the following statement on the 2023, 2024, 2025 renewable volume obligations under the Renewable Fuel Standard announced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):

“I was pleased to see that the EPA’s new Renewable Fuel Standard Volume Obligations will steadily increase the presence of biofuels in the U.S. fuel market over the next three years. We’ve seen that tapping the power of America’s biofuel producers and our family farmers is a key component in helping us advance on many of our climate and energy priorities and stabilize our fuel market. So, I’m grateful to the Administration – and especially EPA Administrator Regan – for recognizing the critical role that ethanol production plays in supporting our family farmers, lowering gas prices and increasing our energy independence.

“We know that increasing the production of all biofuels is a critical step toward keeping our fuel market on the right track, so I will continue to evaluate the EPA’s proposal to ensure that all of Minnesota’s family farmers in the Second District are supported in the final product.”
