Representative Angie Craig Meets With Farmer Advisory Council in Cannon Falls to Discuss 2nd District Agriculture Priorities

CANNON FALLS, MN – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig convened her Farmer Advisory Council at the Cannon Falls VFW to discuss pressing issues in agriculture and focus on bipartisan, commonsense solutions to address them. Representative Craig first assembled the group in 2019 to bring together farmers, producers and agriculture advocates from Minnesota's Second District to serve as experts on issues facing Minnesota farmers. Today's meeting was the first of the 117th Congress.
"Family farmers and rural communities have been hit hard by the extreme volatility of the past few years. As we emerge from this pandemic, I'm proud to have the counsel of a number of farmers from Minnesota's Second District to help me bring rural voices to the table in Washington," said Representative Craig. "During the 117th Congress, I'm committed to working in a bipartisan and solution-focused way to get good farm policy passed, and I'm so thankful for the perspectives of my Farmer Advisory Council members as we work together on behalf of our rural communities."
As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, Representative Craig has made amplifying the voices of Minnesota farmers a top priority. In addition to bringing 2nd District farmers to testify before Congress, Representative Craig has also pushed for smart trade policies that prioritize Minnesota farmers, expand export markets, and improve rural quality of life - including expanded access to mental health care and high-speed broadband.
