Rep. Craig Statement on Partisan NDAA
Last week, Rep. Craig called on congressional leaders to keep the NDAA bipartisan
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig voted against the National Defense Authorization Act in the House, which passed overwhelmingly along party lines.
Last week, Rep. Craig called on congressional leaders to help pass a bipartisan NDAA that helps servicemembers and their families and safeguards our national security – free from “poison pill” policy riders.
The bill House Republicans brought to a vote contained provisions to block women servicemembers from receiving reproductive health care and attacking the rights of LGBTQ+ servicemembers and their families.
“Our country’s national security is not the place for political grandstanding – and I am extremely disappointed that House Republicans are using our national defense bill to advance a partisan agenda. Our servicemembers deserve a defense bill that reflects our shared bipartisan priorities and protects the safety and well-being of the United States, not culture war nonsense,” said Rep. Craig.
