Rep. Angie Craig’s Bipartisan Bill to Improve Small Business Mentorship Passes House

October 22, 2019

SCORE for Small Business Act of 2019 passes with overwhelming bipartisan support

Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig's bipartisan bill to improve oversight and efficiency within the Small Business Administration's SCORE program passed out of the House with overwhelming bipartisan support.

The SCORE for Small Business Act of 2019 will hold SCORE more accountable and ensure the program focuses on better serving rural areas, disadvantaged communities, and traditionally underserved communities using the program's entrepreneurial mentors.

"Expanding economic opportunity for Minnesotans is something we can all agree on," said Rep. Craig. "SCORE mentorships help Minnesotans start successful small businesses and engage in their local economies, and it's just common sense that we should work to make sure the program runs as effectively as possible. I'm proud to see this bipartisan bill pass the House."

Rep. Craig is a member of the House Committee on Small Business, where she works with her colleagues on both sides of the aisle to make the voices of small business owners heard in Congress. To date, Rep. Craig has introduced 13 bills and cosponsored an additional 265 - more than two-thirds of which are bipartisan.
