Rep. Angie Craig Tapped to New House Council that Will Oversee Implementation of Major Legislation, Including Infrastructure, CHIPS and the Inflation Reduction Act

Rep. Craig is one of 12 House Democrats named by Leader Hakeem Jeffries to Regional Leadership Council and will serve as House liaison to the White House for seven Midwestern states

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Angie Craig was named as one of 12 House Democrats to serve on the Regional Leadership Council, a new arm of House leadership that will represent the House of Representatives to the White House to ensure effective implementation of several major pieces of legislation signed into law during the 117th Congress. 

Rep. Craig was selected by new House Leadership as the regional leader for Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. 

The Regional Leadership Council will oversee the implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and more. 

“I am honored to be entrusted with this leadership role and given a new opportunity to deliver for Minnesota and the Midwest. I’m committed to ensuring Minnesotans and the Midwest have a seat at the leadership table, and that will be my top priority as a member of the new Regional Leadership Council,” said Rep. Angie Craig. “As we work with the Administration to implement – and communicate the implementation of – the landmark legislative achievements of the past two years – like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS & Science Act and more – I will continue to advocate for the South Metro and all of Minnesota to get our fair share of those investments.”
