Rep. Angie Craig Statement on Rep. David Scott
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig released the following statement:
“David Scott’s historic service to American farmers as the first Black Chair and Ranking Member of the Agriculture Committee will be felt for generations.
“During his more than 20-year tenure on the Agriculture Committee, Ranking Member Scott has been a steadfast leader for American families, farmers and workers. His relentless efforts to protect nutrition assistance, deliver for family farmers – especially new and beginning farmers – and support our nation’s HBCUs and 1890s Land Grant universities have changed our country for the better.
“I was proud to nominate Ranking Member Scott to serve as Chair of the House Agriculture Committee in the 117th Congress, and it’s been an honor to serve alongside him and learn from him in the years since. On behalf of every American whose life has been touched by Ranking Member Scott’s work, I thank him for his leadership. I will do everything in my power to ensure our Committee lives up to the rich legacy he’s built.”
