Rep. Angie Craig Passes Bipartisan Bills to Support Minnesota Small Businesses
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig helped pass bipartisan legislation to support and invest in Minnesota small businesses.
Rep. Craig voted for three bipartisan bills that would increase investments in Minnesota small businesses, advocate for small businesses in the international economy and increase transparency around microloans given to small businesses.
“Small businesses power Minnesota’s economy and it is critical that we give them the support they need to grow and expand. I want small business owners and employees in the Second District to know that I’ve got their back in Congress, and that’s why I worked across the aisle to pass today’s bills,” said Rep. Angie Craig.
Rep. Craig voted to pass the following bills:
- The Investing in Main Street Act of 2023, which would increase the amount able to be invested in Small Business Investment Companies (SBIC) from 5% to 15%. The SBIC program helps increase access to capital for small businesses.
- The Small Business Advocacy Improvements Act, which would direct the Small Business Administration to do more to represent the interests of small businesses before foreign governments and international entities.
- The Microloan Transparency and Accountability Act of 2023, which would increase transparency around the disbursement of Small Business Administration microloans.
Last year, Rep. Craig was named a Champion of Small Business Investing by the Small Business Investor Alliance.
