Rep. Angie Craig Named to Influential House Energy & Commerce Committee
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig announced her continued service on the influential House Energy and Commerce Committee for a second term.
“I spent more than two decades working in health care before coming to Congress and every day I hear from Minnesotans struggling to afford the health care they need – those are the experiences that drive my work on the Energy and Commerce Committee. Last Congress, we made historic strides in the fight to lower health care costs for Minnesotans – we capped insulin costs for seniors, gave Medicare the power to negotiate drug prices, cracked down on Big Pharma – and we’re just getting started,” said Rep. Craig. “It is an honor to serve on the Energy and Commerce Committee and I look forward to working with members of both parties to get results for the Second District.”
Rep. Craig was named to the Health Subcommittee and the Communications and Technology Subcommittee.
The Energy and Commerce Committee is the oldest standing legislative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, with jurisdiction over telecommunications, consumer protection, food and drug safety, public health and research, environmental quality, energy policy and interstate and foreign commerce issues among others.
