Rep. Angie Craig Announces Nearly $800,000 to Strengthen Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Programs in Rice County
RICE COUNTY, MN – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig announced $799,671 in federal funding for Rice County’s Treatment Court.
The treatment court provides non-violent offenders with access to comprehensive substance use treatment and recovery alternatives within the local justice system.
The federal funding comes from the Department of Justice’s Adult Treatment Court Discretionary Grant Program.
“We must address mental health and substance use disorder with an informed, effective and compassionate approach. Rice County’s Treatment Court helps ensure Minnesotans are provided with the resources and support they need throughout their recovery process – and I’m proud to announce they will be receiving nearly $800,000 to continue those critical efforts,” said Rep. Craig.
Last year, Rep. Craig secured nearly $1 million in federal funding to support the Rice County Opioid Response Council’s efforts to promote public safety, support access to opioid treatment and reduce overdose deaths.
