Rep. Angie Craig Announces Bi-Partisan Congressional Caucus to Address Youth Vaping Epidemic

September 19, 2019

Craig plans to take a leadership role in working with colleagues and parents to address this growing health epidemic

Today, U.S. Rep Angie Craig announced that she will become a Founding Member of the Bi-Partisan Congressional Caucus to End Youth Vaping and joined her colleagues at the Capitol to announce its formation.

"Right now, our children as young as middle schoolers are at risk of becoming addicted to nicotine. Make no mistake about it: the industry behind these products wants this to happen. As a mother of four sons, I know first-hand that this is a challenge in our schools that parents and administrators are facing every day," said Rep. Angie Craig. "I am committed to working across the aisle to address this problem and find real solutions that keep our children safe."

Rep. Craig has already cosponsored several bills, including the:

  • Stop Vaping Ads Act – a bill that would ban all radio and television ads for vaping products.
  • Reversing the Youth Tobacco Epidemic Act of 2019 – a bill that would ban all flavored tobacco and menthol products and ban all online sales of vaping products, where some of the most dangerous homemade vaping liquids are sold.
  • Tobacco to 21 Act – a bill that would raise the age to purchase tobacco products to 21 years of age.
