On House Floor, Representative Craig Highlights Efforts to Help Constituent Enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps

WASHINGTON, DC – This week, U.S. Representative Angie Craig spoke on the House floor about her efforts to help a constituent achieve his goal of enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps and thanked him for his commitment to serving our country.
Earlier this year, Jorge Chaves Meza from Farmington, MN reached out to Representative Craig's Burnsville office for help enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jorge recently came to Minnesota from Costa Rica in hopes of serving in the U.S. military, but his Permanent Residence Card was lost in the mail. Representative Craig and her casework team were able to work with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to expedite getting Jorge a replacement card. Jorge recently received his replacement card and was able to take the oath of enlistment to join the U.S. Marine Corps.
"As a Member of Congress, it is such an honor to have the ability to lend a hand to Minnesotans by solving problems and making our government work more effectively for our constituents," said Representative Craig. "Stories like Jorge's are the most rewarding part of public service – and I'm so proud of his commitment to serving our country.
