Following U.S. Rep. Angie Craig’s Bipartisan Push, Biden Administration Permits Summer Sale of E15

April 19, 2024

Rep. Craig led a group of House Democrats and Republicans last week in urging the Biden Administration to act on year-round sales of E15

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, following Rep. Angie Craig’s bipartisan push, the Biden Administration announced they will permit the summer sale of E15 nationwide. E15 is a cheaper fuel alternative that can cost 30 cents less per gallon than traditional gasoline.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be issuing an emergency fuel waiver to allow the biofuel to be sold during the summer.

“Nationwide year-round access to E15 is a win-win for everyone – it creates economic growth in rural communities, supports Minnesota’s family farmers and lowers gas prices for Minnesotans. I’m pleased to see the EPA's decision today – and I’ll keep pushing the administration to make the nationwide, year-round sale of E15 permanent,” said Rep. Craig.

As a Chair of the bipartisan Biofuels Caucus, Rep. Craig has long advocated for permitting the nationwide year-round sale of E-15. Earlier this Congress, she reintroduced the bipartisan Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act to allow for the nationwide, year-round sale of E15.
