Congresswoman Angie Craig To Serve On Key Congressional Committees
Congresswoman Craig appointed to Agriculture and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.
Burnsville, Minn - [1/17/19] Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig announced that she will serve on the House Committees on Agriculture and Transportation & Infrastructure. Craig will use her role on these committees to focus on the priorities she has heard from her district, including building a robust agricultural economy and investing in transportation and infrastructure in Minnesota's Second District.
Craig requested to join the Agriculture Committee because of her deep roots growing up in rural America with her grandfather who farmed rice and beans for decades. She will fight for family farms because she understands that they are an essential part of building the Second District's diverse landscape, economy and sustainable communities.
"I look forward to fighting to make sure the voices of family farms in the Second District are heard in the Agriculture Committee," said Rep. Craig "I'm also excited to work alongside fellow Minnesota Representative and Chairman Collin Peterson to make sure every part of the Farm Bill is implemented as intended so that farmers and their families get the certainty they are counting on - including strong safety nets and healthy crop insurance programs."
She looks forward to her appointment to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to fight for resources for the cities, towns, and townships throughout the district and help drive economic growth across Minnesota.
"Investments in our highways, roads, bridges and rural broadband are an area where I believe we can find common ground, and I look forward to working across the aisle on behalf of communities in our congressional district," said Rep. Craig.
