Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig (MN-02) announced that she has been appointed to serve on the House Committee on Small Business for the 116th Congress.
Representative Craig worked in business for over 20 years before serving in Congress and is part-owner of a small Minnesota start-up company. She spends most Saturday’s visiting with small business owners across the Second District where she listens to the challenges and opportunities of running a small business in rural and suburban communities. She plans to use her role on the Committee to fight to ensure opportunities for innovation, access to loans and economic success for small businesses across the country.
“Small businesses are the heart and economic engine of our communities,” said Rep. Angie Craig. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Committee to support small businesses and the hardworking and risk-taking Minnesotans’ who start and run them.”
“Congresswoman Craig’s firsthand experience in the small business sector and strong record of championing the needs of Main Streets across Southeastern Minnesota, makes her an exciting addition to the House Small Business Committee,” said Chairwoman Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY). “I look forward to working together to ensure that small businesses in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District and across the country have the tools they need to unlock affordable capital, connect to 21st century technology, and create new jobs.”
In addition to the House Committee on Small Business, Rep. Craig also serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the House Committee on Agriculture.
