Congresswoman Angie Craig Implements Office Changes in Response to Coronavirus Pandemic

March 12, 2020

This morning, the Sergeant At Arms, in consultation with the Office of the Attending Physician, ordered limited access to the U.S. Capitol complex and Member offices due to COVID-19 until at least April 1. As a result, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig announced changes to office operations in her Washington, D.C. and Burnsville, MN, offices to help keep her staff and constituents safe.

The changes include:

  1. The physical location of the Washington, D.C. office in the Longworth Office Building will be closed until at least April 1, 2020. Staff will be teleworking and constituent meetings with her team will be held virtually. All calls and requests to the office will continue to be answered during regular office hours.
  2. The physical location of the Burnsville, MN office will remain open to constituents who walk in but meetings with the staff will be held virtually.
  3. The Sergeant At Arms of the U.S. Capitol has closed the Capitol building to tours and limited access beginning on Friday, March 13th.

The Congresswoman will continue to split her time between the second district and Washington serving her district.

"In order to best continue our work on behalf of Minnesotans, I've directed my office to proactively implement social distancing to prevent potential exposure to the Coronavirus," said Rep. Craig. "The health and safety of my constituents remains my top priority. I continue to push the administration on the status of testing to ensure that every person who needs a coronavirus test can get one and that the test is free."
