March 20, 2020

Minnesota is granted authority opening up funding to small businesses and nonprofits

Today, Rep. Angie Craig announced that small businesses in Minnesota are now eligible for SBA coronavirus relief loans to help them with the impacts they are currently facing. These loans can be for up to $2 million.

"Minnesota nonprofits and small businesses are the fabric of our communities and it's our responsibility to make sure they survive the impacts of the coronavirus," said Rep. Angie Craig. "We are all experiencing changes to the way we live our lives and our small businesses and nonprofits are stepping up to make sure we all get through this together. They need access to this funding and I'm fighting to make sure the federal government is there to make sure they weather this storm. I urge Second District businesses and nonprofits to apply today."

To ensure the quickest processing, Rep. Craig recommends businesses and nonprofits immediately get their information ready to apply, you can find examples here: https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/information/paperforms.

Rep. Craig is a member of the Small Business community. She joined the bipartisan Minnesota delegation in urging the Small Business Administration to make these loans available to Minnesota, additionally, she issued an independent letter highlighting the needs of businesses and nonprofits in the Second District.
