Congresswoman Angie Craig Announces February as National Career and Technical Education Month
Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig announced that she has joined the bipartisan Career and Technical Education (CTE) Caucus and has cosponsored a resolution to recognize February as National CTE Month. Rep. Craig joined the caucus to work across the aisle with her Republican colleagues to strengthen our economy and expand career skills and technical education opportunities for students.
“I am thrilled to designate February as National Career and Technical Education Month to highlight the continued need to change the way we look at providing career skills and technical education in our schools,” said Rep. Craig. “Our focus must be providing career and technical opportunities to our students so they can get the skills they need to be successful in today’s competitive job market.”
Minnesota has over 140,000 job vacancies and only 0.6 job seekers for every available job. In order to address this issue, Rep. Craig is fighting to expand partnerships between schools, employers and training programs.
