Congresswoman Angie Craig Announces Disaster Recovery Grants
Goodhue, Scott and Wabasha Counties and the Prairie Island Indian Community are eligible for U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) Grants to continue recovery efforts from extreme weather and flooding
Today U.S. Rep. Angie Craig announced Goodhue, Scott and Wabasha Counties as well as the Prairie Island Indian Community are among the Minnesota counties eligible for USDA grants to continue recovery efforts from extreme weather and flooding. The USDA is making $150 million of grants available through the Community Facility Program for repairs and improvements to essential community facilities like streets, nursing homes, childcare centers, and libraries.
"I've seen the impact of roads, bridges and neighborhoods crippled by our most recent spring flooding," said Rep. Angie Craig. "I'm humbled by the strength our communities have shown in their recovery efforts to date, and I urge them to apply for these grants to continue those efforts in rebuilding their neighborhoods."
Rep. Craig joined her constituents to sandbag in Hastings, convened a flood preparedness briefing with City, County, and State officials, observed flood damage in Jordan and supported the inclusion of these counties in the Disaster Declaration with the Minnesota Delegation.
Additionally, Rep. Craig introduced the bipartisan Resilience Revolving Loan Fund of 2019, to increase low-interest loans to communities for disaster prevention projects. You can read more about her bill here.
