KIMT: Mayo Clinic's transformation draws visit from Rep. Angie Craig

June 22, 2026

ROCHESTER, Minn. — U.S. Rep. Angie Craig visited Mayo Clinic in Rochester Thursday to learn about the hospital's strategy and its plans to transform the downtown campus.  Craig is running for the U.S. Senate seat held by Tina Smith, who is not running for another term.

Craig toured the Rochester campus and met with Mayo Clinic leadership. They discussed how the hospital is using new technologies to improve patient care and outcomes.

The Bold. Forward. Unbound. project in Rochester will bring new care concepts, digital technologies and facilities to the downtown campus. Leaders also talked with Craig about the jobs and economic growth the project will create in greater Minnesota.

"Every year, more than a million people from across the globe, including countless Minnesotans from CD2, receive world-renowned care at Mayo Clinic – and that's because they are on the cutting edge of modern medicine," Craig said. "Mayo is constantly adapting to serve their patients, and Bold. Forward. Unbound. in Rochester is another critical step toward improving and expanding access to Mayo's unmatched health care."

"This historic investment will not only improve patient outcomes but also create economic opportunities and good-paying jobs for generations of Minnesotans," Craig said.
