DAKOTA TIMES: Angie Craig criticizes ICE tactics and Trump policies affecting Minnesota

U.S. Representative Angie Craig, who serves Minnesota’s 2nd district in Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing federal actions and their impacts on her state and the nation.

On March 10, 2026, Craig criticized immigration enforcement operations under Governor Kristi Noem, stating: “Kristi Noem’s ICE terrorized our state with their tactics during Operation Metro Surge, incurred thousands of dollars in costs for our cities and left local leaders to foot the bill. ICE needs to be held accountable for the economic damage they’ve inflicted on our state.”

The following day, March 11, Craig commented on a dispute involving Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company. She wrote: “Anthropic refused to participate in a DOD contract without basic safety guardrails (like ensuring Claude isn’t used for mass surveillance of Americans). On March 12, Craig addressed economic issues facing small businesses in Minnesota related to federal tariffs. She stated: “President Trump’s tariffs have decimated small businesses across Minnesota – and our local economies are taking a hit. @KellyMorrisonMN and I introduced the Small Business RELIEF Act to exempt small businesses from Trump’s tariffs and provide refunds to businesses who already”

Craig has represented Minnesota’s 2nd District since 2019 after replacing Jason Lewis. She was born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently resides in Prior Lake. Craig graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
