U.S. Rep. Angie Craig Secures $869,000 for Farmington Police Department Security Fence
FARMINGTON, MN – U.S. Representative Angie Craig secured $869,000 in federal funding to help build a fence around the Farmington Police Department property.
Rep. Craig worked with Farmington Mayor Joshua Hoyt and Police Chief Gary Rutherfordto secure this funding to provide additional necessary security for the critical infrastructure within the police department.
“Strengthening the security of the Farmington Police Department by constructing a fence around the property will ensure those officers can continue to provide services to the community in adverse situations. I’m pleased to bring these federal dollars back to Farmington and I’ll keep working in Congress to ensure our local law enforcement agencies get the security they need,” said Rep. Craig.
The fence would help secure the city’s fiber HUB, which is essential to the operation of the city, and the police department evidence room which contains critical evidence for many criminal cases.
