U.S. Rep. Angie Craig Secures $670,000 for Woodbury Police Department
WOODBURY, MN – U.S. Representative Angie Craig secured $670,000 in federal funding for the Woodbury Police Department to purchase new in-vehicle, body-worn and interview room cameras.
Rep. Craig worked with Woodbury Police Chief Jason Posel and local leaders to secure this funding to replace the department’s aging cameras with the most up-to-date technology.
“Providing Woodbury Police Department with these updated cameras will help keep officers safer, assist with the criminal justice process and increase transparency and openness with the community. I'm proud to have worked with Chief Posel to bring home these funds and know they will provide tremendous benefit to our communities,” said Rep. Craig.
Specifically, the federal funding will be used to replace 45 squad car cameras, 90 body-worn cameras and 4 interview room cameras. The new cameras will have enhanced technical features, improved durability and better video quality.
