U.S. Rep. Angie Craig Joins Border Security Task Force
Group of 26 Members seeks to find the common ground policies needed to restore order at the southern border
WASHINGTON, DC – As part of her continued efforts to help restore order at the southern border, U.S. Representative Angie Craig joined a congressional border security task force.
The group, comprised of 26 Members of Congress and led by Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), will focus on finding the bipartisan path forward for the legislation and policies needed to effectively address the border crisis – including the bipartisan border security package blocked by Senate Republicans earlier this year.
“To play politics with the border crisis for political points is reckless and dangerous behavior. We need to work together, and work quickly, to help restore order at the border. I look forward to working with my colleagues and making bipartisan progress on these critical issues,” said Rep. Craig.
Rep. Craig has repeatedly urged the Biden Administration and congressional leaders to do more to address the border crisis.
On Monday, President Biden signed Rep. Craig’s bipartisan bill, the END Fentanyl Act, into law to help stop the smuggling of illicit fentanyl through U.S. ports of entry.
